38 recipients of the 71st Annual Peabody Awards were presented with awards on May 21, 2012 at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City. The winners were chosen by the Peabody board as the best in electronic media for the year 2011, and Sir Patrick Stewart Emceed. Recipients included NPR, The New Yorker, Human Rights Watch, CNN, KPHO-TV, KLAS-TV, NHK, Public Television Service, ABC News, GlobalPost.com, and Sony Pictures Television, among others.
