The Night Won’t End
Al Jazeera English
In Al Jazeera’s Fault Lines segment “The Night Won’t End,” the life of Palestinians living in the Gaza strip is put front and center in an investigation that documents attacks on civilians by Israel (with U.S.-provided weaponry). The broadcast follows three families who have witnessed firsthand how there is nowhere safe in Gaza, with attacks from the Israeli military landing in areas where those displaced had been encouraged to find safety and respite. The resulting coverage, produced in partnership with Airwars (which investigated a December 11, 2023, air strike) and Forensic Architecture and Earshot (which investigated the attack on an ambulance carrying young Hind Rajab in late January 2024), is comprehensive and unequivocal: to watch it is to understand that there are no such things as “safe zones” for those living in Gaza. For boldly investigating attacks on civilians by the Israeli military and offering firsthand and forensic evidence that corroborates accounts of an increasingly harrowing humanitarian crisis in the region, “The Night Won’t End” wins a Peabody award.
