The heartening response to this program is proof that spontaneous, intelligent talk, spiked with humor, can still hold its own against card games, Scrabble, sportscasts, and soap operas—for a half-hour stretch, at any rate. The Peabody Committee hopes that the success of this consistently entertaining program reflects a definite trend.
